Kome Sushi & Bowl Brings Convenience, Raw Fish to Harvard’s Smith Campus Center

When Harvard students returned to Cambridge for the fall semester, many spotted a new addition to the food options in the Smith Campus Center: Kome Sushi & Bowl, a new sushi restaurant which opened over the summer.


Sally's Sandwiches

Sally's Sandwiches opened earlier this month in the Smith Campus Center in a combined storefront with Blackbird Donuts. Both stores are operated by the Gallows Group, a local restaurant group.


Philanthropist Richard A. Smith, Who Was ‘Deeply Devoted to Harvard,’ Dies at 95

To most at Harvard, Richard A. Smith ’46 is perhaps best known for what former University President Drew G. Faust called his “last gift” to the University: the donation that enabled the redesign and renovation of what is now the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Campus Center. But his generosity to Harvard extended well beyond just the edifice that sits as a primary hub for student gatherings.

In a rendering of the expected external appearance of the renovated Smith Campus Center, people can be seen playing chess, enjoying the outdoor pavilion, and purchasing food from the variety of eateries.


Garber Announces Smith Center

In November 2013, University Provost Alan M. Garber ’76 announced the renaming of the Holyoke Center to the Richard A. & Susan F. Smith Campus Center and the renovation project into a new campus center expected to open by 2018.
