Oct. 24 - Nov. 7: Sleeping in the Bathroom
Over the last few weeks, HUPD has responded to a fair amount of “suspicious activity” and an extraordinary number of incidents involving people sleeping in the Holyoke Center’s bathroom. As part of our Securitas series, we’ve combed through HUPD log entries from the last few weeks and published some of the more colorful entries below.

Suspicious Activity (6:33 p.m.)
Goldenson Building 1, 220-1 Longwood Ave., Boston
Officers dispatched to a report of an individual throwing away trash. Officers report the individual was affiliated and had authorization to throw trash away.

Suspicious Package (1:32 p.m.)
NRB New Research Building, 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston
Officer dispatched to a report of several unattended boxes in the area. Officer reports the boxes were empty and were trash.

Boylston Hall, 5 Harvard Yard, Cambridge
Officer dispatched to take a report that an individual received suspicious e-mails.
Unwanted Guest (4:29 p.m.)
Holyoke Center, 1350 Mass. Ave., Cambridge
Officers dispatched to a report of an individual sleeping in the bathroom. Officers arrived and sent the individual on their way.

Officer took a report that an individual received an annoying phone call.
Unwanted Guest (2:13 p.m.)
Mac Malkin Athletic Center, 39 Holyoke St., Cambridge
Officers dispatched to a report of an unwanted guest attempting to sell paintings. Officers report the individual was gone on arrival.

Trespass Warning (4:47 p.m.)
Radcliffe Yard, 13 Appian Way, Cambridge
Officers dispatched to a report of an individual dropping a bag of marijuana on the ground and then seeing another individual clean the bag up. Officers located one of the individuals and conducted a field interview. The individual was checked for wants/warrants with negative results. The individual was issued a trespass warning for all Harvard University property and sent on their way.

Officer informed that an individual’s unattended black fedora style hat valued at $14.00 was stolen.

Officers dispatched to a report of an unwanted guest sleeping in the bathroom. Officers report the individual was gone on arrival.

Holyoke Center, 1350 Mass. Ave., Cambridge
Officers dispatched to a report of an unwanted guest sleeping in the bathroom. Officers conducted a field interview with the individual and issued them a trespass warning for all Harvard University property and sent them on their way.
