Pforzheimer House administrators and the Harvard University Police Department responded Monday to reports of a man who repeatedly entered a student dormitory building unclothed from the waist down.
The man reportedly walked through Pforzheimer’s Comstock Hall multiple times over the past month while unclothed. Students have witnessed the individual entering bathrooms and wandering between floors.
Pforzheimer House tutor Jill Jones “encountered and spoke to” the “partially unclothed” individual on the third floor of the building over the weekend, according to a Monday afternoon email sent to residents of Comstock’s third floor by Pforzheimer House resident dean Monique A. Roy. HUPD and Securitas were contacted immediately, according to the email.
The individual “did not appear to be a resident” of Pforzheimer, Roy wrote, adding that “Securitas is doing additional rounds throughout the building.”
An HUPD officer responded to reports of “an individual who had previously exposed themselves” at Comstock on Saturday morning, according to a public police log.
HUPD spokesperson Steven G. Catalano declined to comment on the incident, citing HUPD policy “to not comment on open and active criminal investigations.” A College spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment on the incidents.
In response to the incident, Roy urged residents to use “common sense safety practices,” including keeping doors closed and locked.
“Even just beyond HUPD, the entire staff is totally doing their best to get to the bottom of this, make sure it stops, make sure we're all safe,” Chelsea J. Bohn-Pozniak ’27, a Comstock resident, said.
“I’m more concerned about the fact that children live here, and — whether it’s a student or not — it’s inappropriate and disturbing,” Bohn-Pozniak said.
