The Harvard Graduate Council announced a combined Harvard-Yale tailgate and watch party for graduate students at the music venue Roadrunner during a meeting on Monday night.

The council also announced a series of “One Harvard” grants during the meeting, which will be allocated to individual graduate schools to hold social events bringing Harvard graduate students together.

The tailgate will be run by the Harvard Business School but remain open to graduate students from each of Harvard’s 12 graduate students. Roughly 1,000 tickets have already been sold, but according to Hayden Tanaby, the HBS student body president, many more are available.

“We have a few HBS DJs that are going to play in the morning, from 10 a.m. to noon, and then on a jumbo, 20-foot screen, we are going to stream the actual football game,” Paton said.

Tickets to the tailgate will include access to the venue and food within. There will also be a cash bar open to graduate students and HBS student DJs who plan to play hits from the 2010s.

The announcement comes after Jason R. Meier, Harvard College’s associate dean for student engagement, announced the College’s intention to crack down on underage drinking during its official tailgate at Harvard-Yale.

Bradley Canales, vice president of the Harvard Graduate Council, also announced a resolution to offer up to $1,000 in funding for each individual graduate school to host social events that will be open to all graduate students. Previous examples of such events include Beer’n’Dogs and the Winter Ball at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

This year, the resolution will differ from the past by allowing students to apply for specific amounts of funding up to $1,000 total throughout the year, rather than hosting a one-time application during the year.

After the announcement, the floor was opened up for each individual school to discuss possible socials amongst themselves.

A vote followed, and the resolution — the first of the semester — passed.

The representatives from GSAS also announced a resolution to host a Winter Ball, which will be held on Dec. 7 this year. The event is a repeat from last year.

The motion to pass the resolution passed unanimously.

Tejaswi Polimetla, the HGC chair of programming and a master’s student in data science, asked for members to volunteer to run GradFest, a university-wide party for graduate students, which will occur this Saturday.

HGC and GSAS will also partner to host a Diwali event this month.
