Cambridge police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting that occurred on Windsor Street between Central Square and MIT.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at around 12:40 a.m and located an adult male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim is currently in the hospital, according to Cambridge Police Department spokesperson Robert Goulston.
CPD detectives believe the shooting was a “targeted incident,” according to a citywide alert sent to Cambridge residents near the area where the shooting occurred.
This incident is not the first shooting to occur in Cambridge this year. In May, two individuals were non-fatally shot at Donnelly Field, prompting two arrests.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
