Following Harvard men’s hockey team’s weekend sweep of Yale in the first round of the ECAC playoffs, freshman forward Doug Rogers has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week.
Rogers’ standout weekend began Friday night in the Crimson’s come-from-behind 5-2 victory, when he provided an assist on captain Dylan Reese’s game-winning goal. Rogers would later tack on a goal of his own to give his team some insurance.
Rogers’ two points brought his season total to 23, second on the team to senior forward Kevin Du’s 27.
Rogers also played a key role in Saturday night’s 2-1 win. In what would prove to be an extremely close contest, his 14-3 record on faceoffs may have helped to tip the balance in favor of Harvard.
