It’s a really great opportunity for the students, and for me as well, as we push further into the semester with contemporary issues of Latin American history. When we get into things with more contemporary relevance, it’ll be great to hear more about his experiences.
He’s very approachable and really a great person. After our first meeting he found out that I studied Colombian history and he was very generous with his time talking to me. I’m looking forward to getting to work with him and learn from him about where he’s been and the leaders he’s met. Most of the students haven’t realized he’s the senator. It’s a nice dynamic.
