Spencer B. Lazar ’07’s Music:
1) The 8th Day—“She’s Not Just Another Woman”
“Good Shower Music. Its also good pick me up in the miserable rain of Cambridge. Who doesn’t like soul?”
2) Belle & Sebastian—“Piazza, New York Catcher”
“It kind of feels like freedom, it’s really light. It reeks of summer, car trips, and gatherings between the best of friends.”
3) Flaming Lips—“Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt 1”
“I think I listened to this song 300 times in the span of a week while making a small format music video for it. While most people might get sick after such seemingly tedious listening, the more time I spent with it, the more I’ve come to identify with the song.”
4) The Control—“Opium Dream”
"Rarely do you get an incredibly sexy female vocalist rolling
over a innovative hip-hop beat. While the entire album moves me as
such, this was the track that turned me first got me hooked."
5) Led Zeppelin—“Fool in the Rain”
"The upbeat drum part to this song instantly for me conjures up
memories of my youngest brother and aspiring musician jamming away
diligently in our basement in Chicago. Living as far away from home
as most of us do at school, cultural artifacts that resonate with the
people and relationships we left behind, as thing song does for me,
really have a way of giving you goosebumps."
