Last week



FRIDAY

FM started at the ’Berg for the Junior Class Events Commission’s “Junior Class Does Junior High” party. Free for juniors but five bucks for all others, the dance got attendees to relive those traumatizing days of yesterdecade at clique-themed tables. Special Bonus: all the Dunkaroos and Fruit by the Foot you could ask for (and some beer, too).

Next, FM headed to the PfoHo Belltower, where she was shooed away because the party was at capacity. But after flashing her press credentials, she was treated to the house drink: pineapple soda and rum.

Finally, at the Dudley House Co-Op, the alternative crowd grinded to everything from reggaeton to Ace of Base and played an intense drinking game known as “Fuck You Pyramid” (don’t ask—we don’t know, either). After the boxed wine ran out, the party dispersed, forcing all to walk home through the pouring rain.



SATURDAY

Things got started frighteningly early in Loker Commons where, at 8 p.m., the Harvard-Radcliffe Science Fiction Association had a live-action roleplay (LARP) ball. Donning tiaras and military uniforms, students and alums gathered together between the pool tables and that kid finishing his problem set for waltzes and swordfights.

At the CityStep party at the Signet, people who teach dance to children ate whipped cream off each other’s bodies. A classy affair in Harvard’s premiere arts-and-letters society, teams of teachers dressed up as “The 6 Stages of Mariah Carey (plus Kunle)” and “Dirrty Throughout the Ages.”

Meanwhile, at another artsy non-finals-club, the Advocate threw a pi-themed birthday party for Olga Kamensky ’08. Guests brought their favorite math nerds and jammed to hits by Aqua and Usher.

This week



Thursday

Watch Jaws in the MAC pool. Inner tube and poolside stands tickets are $8 and $5, respectively, but if the movie scares the shit out of you, you’ll be asked to exit the premises.



Friday

Woodbridge Society throws their annual International Fiesta, starting with a banquet at 8:30 p.m. and a dance at 10. The event will feature DJ Quiet, a best-dressed contest, and Latin dance lessons.

Tickets are $8 from the Harvard Box Office.



Saturday

Put on your favorite party dress (if you’re a boy) and head over to BGLTSA’s Drag Night Karaoke, one of the hottest events in Gaypril.

8 p.m. in Adams.

Afterwards, get “housed” for those who can’t at Harvard Habitat for Humanity’s dance/benefit in the Eliot Dining Hall. Your $5 will go towards the creation of one-hundred-thousandth of a house. Real estate’s expensive now, yo.
