Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Lost, ABC Wednesdays, 9 p.m.
People have been complaining about the lack of answers with this show. These wimps were obviously not in on “The X-Files” craze. After nine years of conspiracies, a cigarette-smoking man who wouldn’t die, and more sexual tension that Brangelina, I think we can all handle a few unanswered questions on “Lost.”
That said, it would be nice if the writers threw us something. At this point, I’d settle for a tiny crust of a clue.
Cut to a shot of the islanders. Sun has lost her wedding ring. She’s in tears, tearing up her garden. She’s certainly lost her Sunny demeanor (har har).
Next, we have a flashback of her on a blind date that her mother set up with some Harvard hot-shot. Fittingly, he’s a jerk. Harvard Man basically leads Sun on in an attempt to get his own mother off his back—the entire time, he’s actually engaged to some girl he met at Harvard.
You mean a Harvard guy is dating a Harvard girl, and they got engaged? Frankly, that’s more unrealistic than the polar bears, the Dharma initiative, and that freaky monster.
Back with the other passengers, Ana Lucia barks at Sawyer. I like her; she’s feisty and scary as a polar bear. In turn, he’s all flirty, asking her if she’s married. This is one horny islander (with mighty impressive abs, I might add).
The passengers (not to be confused with The Others) are led by Ana Lucia to find the group Sawyer and Jin left. The area where these passengers landed looks exactly like the part of the island we’re familiar with. I’m a little upset that the production staff doesn’t have more exotic foliage for each different area of the island. Just ask “Survivor” for their leftovers!
Regardless, by the end of the episode Sun has found her ring, which she’d accidentally buried with the passenger messages. She cries for happiness. You know, I hope that next time we have a Sun-centric episode, the writers give her more to do than cry and whimper.
Kate attempts to take the bottle and read the messages from the passengers, whining about how she “never got to say good-bye.” Looks like somebody has the hots for Sawyer – and with his facial hair, who doesn’t? I can’t wait for the awkward love trapezoid of Ana Lucia/Sawyer and Kate/Jack.
Don’t miss next week’s episode when one of our islanders is “lost forever.” I will be one angry viewer if it’s Hurley. What a scuttled dreamboat!
