Rhoads attended UCLA, where he was a member of the golf squad during his junior and senior years. He competed professionally for three-and-a-half years, participating in tournaments on the Canadian PGA tour, the Golden Bear tour in Florida, the West Coast Tear Drop tour and the Buy.com Tour.
More recently, Rhoads served as an instructor at the PGA Learning Center in Fla. before becoming the teaching professional at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. in 2003.
