The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) arrested Mark D. Best ’02 at the Senior Soiree early last Sunday for disorderly conduct and trespassing, but the charges have been dismissed, according to HUPD spokesperson Steven G. Catalano.
Best, a resident of Dunster House, was refused entry into the senior formal because he did not have a ticket, and officers asked him to leave, Catalano said.
Best later returned and argued with staff at the soiree, which was held in Radcliffe Yard.
“He was causing a scene,” Catalano said.
At Best’s Monday arraignment, the court dismissed the charges and charged him $100 in court costs, Catalano said.
Two senior class marshals said they were unaware of the incident, and members of the staff of the Radcliffe Association, which coordinated the event, declined to comment on the specifics of the incident.
Best could not be reached for comment.
