Terrorists, Not POWs

To the editors:

Re: “Grant Detainees POW Status” (Editorial, Jan. 18):

It is laughable that you call these mass murderers “prisoners of war.” In no way do they bear any relationship to soldiers. One needs to be a designated combatant fighting for a recognized government to be considered for POW status. As far as their internment goes, they should be given shelter that is at least as comfortable as what they have become accustomed to—a cave.
