The women’s golf team ended its season last weekend by winning the Massachusetts State tournament on Friday and tying for sixth in the Northeast Championship on Saturday and Sunday.

In the Northeast championship at Amherst, Mass., the team shot a score of 691 for both days, tying Dartmouth for sixth place out of thirteen teams.

Freshman Meredith Chiampa shot 161 overall, tying for fourth place individually and earning a place on the All Northeast team.

Freshman Elisa Shaar tied for 21st place with a score of 171 and Chan tied for 29th place with 177.

“We ended on a good note,” said senior captain Marcie Chan. “We definitely improved over the season; everyone’s game showed that.”

On Friday, the team shot its lowest score ever with 334 as the team total to give it the championship.

Chiampa won the Massachusetts State with an individual score of 77.

“This weekend was good for the team going into next year,” Chan said.
