After beating No. 9 BYU in a last-minute thriller on Monday afternoon to extend its unbeaten streak to five games, the Harvard women's soccer team (6-1-1, 3-0 Ivy) looks to gain an even stronger grip on the top spot in the Ivy League standings as it visits Cornell Saturday afternoon.

As Harvard sits on its perch, the other teams in the Ivy League are taking aim.

Brown (2-6-1, 0-2-1 Ivy) lost two nail-biters on the road in span of three days.

A goal by freshman striker Amy Alboro gave Brown a temporary 2-1 second-half lead against Rhode Island on Tuesday afternoon. But the Bears were unable to maintain their aggressiveness and gave up two goals in the last 25 minutes of the game to lose to the Rams 3-2 in regulation.

Brown also lost 1-0 to Dartmouth on Saturday, after giving up a quick goal minutes into the match.

The Bears play host to Princeton, the second-place team in the Ivy, this Friday afternoon at home.

Princeton (5-2-1, 2-0-1 Ivy) defeated Monmouth for only the second time in its history Tuesday afternoon by the score of 1-0 on the Tigers' home turf.

Princeton freshman forward Krista Ariss netted the game-winning goal late in the match to cap off an unbeaten week for the Tigers. They tied Yale 2-2 last Saturday at home. The tie dropped them out of a first place tie with Harvard, in the Ivy League.

Pennsylvania (5-2-1, 2-1 Ivy) bounced back from a heart-breaking loss to the Crimson at the Harvard Invitational Saturday afternoon by defeating Boston University the following day by a score of 3-2.

Freshman defender Jennifer Valentine scored her first goal of the season Sunday as the Quakers rolled to a 3-2 win over the Terriers.

The Quakers missed a golden opportunity to gain a tie or even outright lead of the Ivy standings when it lost to the Crimson Saturday.

Harvard co-captain Beth Zotter netted the golden goal in the extra period to give Penn its first Ivy League loss of the season.

Penn plays host to Stony Brook next Monday afternoon.

Yale (2-4-1, 1-1-1 Ivy) came back late in its match against Princeton on Saturday afternoon to earn a 2-2 tie.

Senior forward Theryn Gibbons scored both of the Bulldogs' goals against the Tigers and came within eight goals of Yale's all-time record of 39. She also earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors with her impressive showing against Princeton.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Peterson made a season-high 10 saves against the Tigers, including an amazing one in the second overtime period that preserved the tie for the Bulldogs.

Yale's next home game takes place on the 16th of October when it plays host to Dartmouth.

Colombia (5-3-1, 0-2-1 Ivy) rebounded from a tough 1-0 loss at Cornell Friday afternoon to pull out a thrilling overtime victory against Colgate just two days later.

Junior midfielder Sarah Dobsevage scored the deciding goal in the overtime period versus Colgate after receiving a perfect pass from senior teammate Kriszen Williams.

Colombia visits Alabama-Birmingham this Friday afternoon and then will stay to face Mississippi State on Sunday at noon.

Dartmouth (3-4, 1-2 Ivy) had a huge week with two shutout victories in three days.

Freshman midfielder Mary McVeigh scored two goals as she led Dartmouth to a 4-0 victory against Vanderbilt on Thursday.

They then defeated rival Brown 1-0 on Sunday to earn its first Ivy League win of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Kristin Luckenbill has not allowed a goal in three of her last four games and is at the top of Dartmouth's career shutout list with 21 in fewer than 3 years.

The Big Green play host to No. 10 Richmond on Friday, and then travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., on Sunday to play No. 3 North Carolina.

Cornell (3-3-1, 1-2 Ivy) continued its stellar play at home this year as it defeated both Colgate and Columbia

At Berman Field to improve to 3-1 at home.

Although the sole goal in its 1-0 win against Columbia was credited to the opposing Lion defender, junior forward Sophia Smith was responsible for directing the ball towards the goal before it was deflected.
