RUS Selects New Officers

By Vasugi V. Ganeshananthan

The Radcliffe Union of Students (RUS) elected new officers last Thursday evening. Kate B. Clancy '00 and Courtney E. Ellis '01 were selected co-presidents.

Erica L. Sanders '00 and Christine T. Neamtu '01 won the offices of treasurer and secretary, respectively.

Ellis said she would like to see RUS increase its campus presence and plans to increase publicity.

"I think we want to be more activist this year," Ellis said.

They will try to further incorporate the Radcliffe Women's Activist Committee and the Coalition Against Sexual Violence into the union, Clancy said. Both groups are RUS offshoots.

"The Coalition Against Sexual Violence has pretty much been incorporated into RUS this year," Clancy said. "We'll be committed to those issues as well."

Female undergraduates who have attended two RUS-affiliated meetings this year were eligible to cast ballots in the election. Ellis estimated that about a dozen people voted.
