NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Texas running back Ricky Williams yesterday received the Player of the Year award from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
Williams, of San Diego, Calif., has set 12 NCAA Division I-A benchmarks and tied four others.
During his four-year career, Williams rushed for a total of 6,279 yards, beating the record of 6,082 yards set by Pittsburgh's Tony Dorsett from 1973 to 1976.
