Let the Cops Enforce Law

Dissent

By Dara Horn

The "Cops in Shops" program is within the law and is not the staff's complaint per se; the staff poorly shields its view that they simply do not support the law behind the policy. The staff does not defend its underlying belief--that is, the belief that students should be immune to the national law.

Police officers are responsible for enforcing the law, and while there may be more effective methods of curing the problems resulting from underage drinking, we believe that the staff should not encourage the police to stop enforcing the law without disputing the law itself.
