'Evening' More Than Just Whipping

I was very disappointed with the Oct. 27 coverage of the "Evening with Champions. "The event was truly incredible and well worth the $10 ticket.

I am appalled that the Crimson spent the bulk of the article discussing the controversy over a "whipping scene" and failed to even mention the Harvard students who skated in the event. This is just poor and lazy journalism.

Please give the Harvard skaters who performed in the event the recognition and respect they so richly deserve. Eliot House junior Jaclyn Ward, Eliot House sophomore Lori Sonderegger and first-year Megan Raymond all deserve a huge hand for their wonderful performances this weekend.

Without whips and controversy, they were a fantastic part of the Evening with Champions that should not have been over-looked. --Margaret L. Jacobberger '99
