Phelps Studied Art, Literature

There are two errors in your much appreciated article on my wife Julia Phelps (November 13): she died on October 4 (not October 2), in her seventy-ninth year.

May I add that she studied German art with two of Harvard's rare stars in that subject: Wilhelm Koehler and Charles Kuhn.

She devoted her last year to a study of the concept of Heaven in medieval art. She had just turned to following up this theme in literature--Dante's concept of Paradise--when she died. --Reginald H. Phelps,   Cambridge
