Republican Club Elects Officers

By The CRIMSON Staff

Jay Dickerson '97 was elected president of the Harvard Republican Club last night.

Also elected were Vice President David S. DeSimone '98, Secretary Randy A. Karger '98, Treasurer Bradley L. Whitman '97 and Member-at-Large Kevin B. Acklin '98.

Dickerson said last night he hopes to increase the club's involvement in the National College Republicans and continue to bring high profile speakers to campus.

"One of the chief goals we'd like to have is to organize a campus-wide mock election for the 96 presidential race," Dickerson said.

Dickerson said he has already spoken to President Neil L. Rudenstine about attempting to arrange a presidential or vice presidential debate to take place at Harvard next year.
