HALFNIGHT NAMED TO UNITED STATUS JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM

COLORADO SPRINGS. Col--Sophomore defenseman Ashlin Halfnight of the Harvard hockey team has been named to the 1995 United States National Junior Team.

Halfnight, who holds citizenship in the U.S. and Canada, is one of 14 players who have been named to the squad and the only returning player among the five defeensemen. Eight more players will be named to the team, coached by Lake Superior mentor Jeff Jackson, in the coming weeks.

The team will compete in the 1995 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, set for December 26-January 4 in Red Deer, Alberta.

In 30 games with the ECAC champion Crimson last season. Halfnight tallied two goals and eight assists. His overtime goal lifted Team North to the gold medal at the United States Olympic Festival last summer in St. Louis.
