Free Airport Shuttle to Run Tomorrow, Weds.

For the third year in a row, the Undergraduate Council will be running a free shuttle bus service for students traveling to Logan International Airport tomorrow and Wednesday.

The council allocated $1,440 last week to provide the shuttle service to students, in an attempt to save them from the two alternatives traditionally available: time-consuming T travel or spending up to $20 on cab fare to the airport.

T travel is often difficult for students going home for winter break, when unwieldy luggage hinders their progress, said resolution sponsor John A. Mann '92-94.

"When I was a freshman coming back here from winter break I gashed my hand open struggling with three pieces of luggage and a bass guitar on the subway," Mann said. "This is a service that the students want, a service that the students need."

Mann told the council last night that the answering machine in the council office was filled to capacity last weekend with messages from students interested in the shuttle service.

"As far as what the U.C. does, social events come and go," Mann said. "But if we can make people's trips home easier we've provided a great service."

Council President Carey W. Gabay '94 said he hopes that this service becomes institutionalized within the council's agenda.

"We're providing more runs and publicizing more," said Gabay. "I hope that the council continues to provide this service, and that people start associating the U.C. with vacation shuttle buses."

The shuttles will pick students up at Memorial Hall, Currier House and Quincy House tomorrow and Wednesday. The QuincyHouse stop will be at the corner of Mt. Auburn andDeWolfe Streets.
