Harvard Fans Are Puerile

To the Editors of The Crimson:

I am a Princeton graduate living in the Boston area. I am also a former Princeton hockey player.

I attended the Harvard-Princeton hockey game at Bright Arena on November 18. Princeton put up a tremendous fight against the 1989 NCAA champions and came away with six goals, though they lost, 6-9.

I would like to think that Harvard undergraduates in the stands could show the same respect for their opponents that their team did. The chorus "PRINCETON SUCKS" that blared repeatedly from the bleachers hardly characterizes a team that fought its heart out and provided tough opposition.

Such a puerile cheering section hardly impressed this Princeton visitor who came to cheer his team. If that is what it takes to win games on the Harvard campus, I am very disappointed. I had thought more highly of Harvard. Grenville Cuyler   Charlestown
