The best way to prove you're king, or queen, of the hill is just to beat everyone.
The Radcliffe rugby club finished its conquest of the New England area by defeating the only team it had yet to play this year. The Black and White (6-1) defeated Boston College, 8-0, Saturday at Soldiers Field.
Radcliffe won the New England Invitational Tournament earlier this month, but did not meet the usually powerful Eagles.
"They are the one team we didn't play that was ranked in the first division," rugger Val Bogdan said. "We feel that we have clinched it now, we have beaten everyone in New England."
Seniors Gillian Caldwell and Heather Flewelling closed out their careers by providing the offense. Caldwell opened the second half with a try to break a scoreless tie. Flewelling added a try late in the game to close out the scoring.
"It was a tough game," Bogdan said. "They are very aggressive players who go right after the ball in loose play. It a was good game to win since it was the last game for the seniors."
The Radcliffe "B"-side fell to the Eagles, 16-0.
