Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Like last year, the beginning was good.
The Harvard field hockey team opened its season Saturday with a 3-0 victory over the University of Rhode Island. The victory, coupled with a successful junket to Holland at the beginning of the month, represents a good start for the Crimson, which last year turned in a disappointing 3-8-4 campaign.
Harvard pounded URI, 5-1, at the beginning of last season and captured its second game, 2-1, over Providence. But the 1986 Crimson managed to win only a single game--a 2-1 thriller over Brown--over the next two months and left a lot of questions about this year's squad.
Perhaps Saturday's blanking answered some.
