When Harvard's Jody Dushay saw Olympic Marathon Champion Joan Benoit lining up for the 10 kilometer race in yesterday's Boston College Relays, she was thinking about asking Benoit for her autograph, not running against her.

Benoit, running her first race since the Olympic Trials, led from start to finish, running an easy 32:45:04.

While Benoit was lapping the field, Dushay placed an impressive third in the "other" race with a time of 37:05.

In the five kilometer race, Harvard's Lois Brommer ran a personal best time of 16 minutes, 25 seconds. But despite winning the race and establishing the second best time in Harvard women's track history, Brommer's finish was four seconds off the needed to qualify for Nationals in June.

Running in her first five kilometer race, Harvard's Katy Toner took an impressive fourth place, finishing in a time of 17:27:08--good enough for the ninth best time in Harvard women's track history.

In the men's 10 kilometer race, Harvard's Brian Cann finished third, with a time of 31:35:06. That qualified him for a spot in the Junior National Championships in June. Harvard's Rich Glew finished seventh, with a time of 33:25:04.
