Greeley Garners Ivy Honor

Bypassed for postseason honors her first three years here, Harvard senior Jennifer Greeley yesterday was named the Ivy League's women's lacrosse Player of the Year.

A surprise pick, Greeley also nabbed first team All-Ivy honors.

In all, nine Harvard Players-the most ever-were named to the league's prestigious postseason teams.

Four Crimson laxwomen found their way on to the All-Ivy first team, two were named to the All-Ivy second team and three garnered honorable mention.

Selected by a vote of the seven league head coaches, the nine Harvard players were part of an 11-4 Crimson squad that won its fifth consecutive Ivy League title and concluded its season ranked ninth nationally.

Greeley, a four-time All-American soccer player, quietly emerged as the key cog on this year's Harvard team, which compiled a 6-0 Ivy mark for the second consecutive year.

The Wellesley, Mass, native who a year ago tallied just two assists, this year responded with 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists) and became the inspirational leader of the squad.
