Two Lowell House students aren't professional photographers, but more than 400 seniors have individually asked them to take their pictures.

Due to a foul-up by the Harvard Yearbook staff, Susan Hegeman '86 and Jessica Liu '86 have received about 30 unwanted phone calls every day for the past two weeks from upcoming graduates inquiring about senior portrait appointments.

In a reminder sent to all seniors, the Yearbook misprinted the prefix of its phone number--prompting seniors to call Hegeman and Lui at their 498 number rather than the Yearbook's 495 number.

"It's been extremely frustating," said Hegeman. "People have been calling as early as 7 o'clock and as late as 2 at night."

While Hegeman and Lui have been up late talking to one-fourth of their class, many seniors haven't found any inconvenience by this misprint.

"I thought it could be a wrong number," said Tracy E. Black '86, "but I know that the Yearbook runs out of North House, so I thought that they just used a student's number."

Louise Boones '87, a member of the Yearbook staff, said, "I certainly hope apologies were sent to the Lowell House people, especially since we didn't send a follow-up letter correcting the misprint."

Hegeman jokingly said, "They ought to provide us with free copies of the Yearbook, since they made us go through all this trouble."
