Mike Brooks' two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter broke open a 9-7 game and enabled Cornell to hand Columbia its 10th consecutive defeat.

Brooks had 76 yards running on the day and teammate Tony Baker had 73 yards to pace the Big Red, which upped its mark to 2-4 in the Ivy League, 2-6 overall.

The only bright spot for the Lions was the play of running back Jimmy Henderson, who had 106 yards rushing.

Columbia's record fell to 0-6 in the Ivy League, 0-8 overall. If the Lions drop their season finale to Brown Saturday, they would finish with an 0-9 mark, the worst in the school's 94 seasons. The 1943 squad was 0-8.
