WEEKEND ACTION

Just when you thought finals were over, the Harvard men's hockey squad and the Crimson's men's and women's basketball teams are gearing up this weekend for their first real tests in over two weeks.

The icemen return to the rink Sunday to take on Colgate in a 2 p.m. showdown at Bright Center. The Crimson, victim of a mid-season slump in December and early January, should get some much-needed help with the return of several key performers. Jay North will return to action Sunday, completely healed from a broken hand. Highly heralded freshman Allen Bourbean will also return to action Sunday. Bourbean has been out all season for disciplinary reasons.

Meanwhile, the Harvard men's basketball team takes on New York University in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff Monday at Briggs Cage. The Crimson, holder of a 5-7 record but mired in a two-game losing streak, will look to get back in the win column against the Violets, who in their first year with a varsity basketball program have looked impressive.

The Crimson women's basketball squad will also look to get into the win column for the first time in several weeks, traveling to Boston College for a 5:30 p.m. showdown next Tuesday. Harvard, 1-14 on the season, hasn't won since early December.
