A Boston University sophomore plunged to an icy death in a climbing accident on Mt Washington in New Hampshire last week.
Mark R. Brockman was halfway up the mountain with seven other hikers from the university when the accident occurred on March 27.
Jon Martinson, manager of the Appalachian Mountain Club's Pinkham Notch hut, said Brockman's accident occurred at 1:15 p.m. and that Brockman was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N H. where he was pronounced dead on arrival from massive head and internal injuries.
Services for Brockman were held last Thursday.
Brockman was the third hiker to die in the White Mountains since March 24. --The B. U. World
