The selection committee for the Center for International Affairs (CFIA) is currently considering South Korean dissident Kim Due Jung's request for a fellowship, the Director of the CFIA's fellows program, Benjamin Brown, confirmed yesterday.

"We now have his candidacy under consideration, and I told him that we would be letting him know within a few weeks," Brown said, adding, "I found him an extremely interesting person. I think he would make a fascinating fellow."

Kim, a leading South Korean opposition leader who was released from prison in December, said late last week that he would accept a Harvard fellowship offer.
