The protest, which began at noon on the steps of Widener Library and then moved to OCS-OCL, was held to protest "Reagan's imperialist war drive," and the accompanying recruitment of Harvard students for the armed force. Thomas A. Cowperthwaite `85, a supporter of the Sparticists, said yesterday.

The demonstrator at Widener listened to addresses by a series of speakers who denounced the draft, capitalism, and U.S. inervention in EI Salvador, before marching over to OCS-OCL.

"I am opposed to all wars but one, and that is the working class war for international socialism." Debra M. Satz, 3 teaching assistant in Social Studies who addressed the rally said yesterday. Satz said academic institutions should not allow recruitment by the Marines who "fight for the capitalist class against peasants and workers."

A group of 25 bystanders gathered outside of Widener attempted to drown out the chants of the demonstrators and then gradually dispersed Many of the onlookers disputed the Sparicists view of world events. "Their support of the Soviet Union and the government of Poland is sufficient comment on their concern for civil rights." Yitzhak Klein, a graduate student in Government, said yesterday.

At OCS-OCL, the demonstrators were met by a few Harvard University Police officers, who observed the rally from inside the twostory building and across the street.

Martha P. Leape, director of OCS-OCL, yesterday expressed annoyance with the demonstration, who chanted. "No draft, class war" on the steps of the building. She said only a small number of students had made appointments to speak with the Marine recruiter.

Marine Captain Frank Watizer of the Boston Officer Selection Office said he could hear the shouts of the demonstration as he interviewed students in the basement of OCS-OCL.

"I'm glad they're here, because they're taking advantage of the Constitution I'm sworn to support." Walizer said.

Students taking with Walizer at OCS-OCL yesterday seemed unperturbed by the demonstration outside. "They can waste their time anywhere they want." Francis J. Flynn `83 said.
