Members of the Faculty yesterday began formally considering a proposal for a new Ph.D. program in Genetics.
In a regular meeting, the Faculty Council--the Faculty's executive steering committee--heard Edward L. Keenan '57, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, describe the program, which would be administrated by the Division of Medical Sciences. Currently, genetic students study under other departments, such as biology or biochemistry.
The full Faculty is expected to consider the program later this year.
In other action, the council continued discussion of sexual harassment, as well as a recently completed report summarizing the Faculty's efforts in Women's Studies.
