Spikers on Track, Topple Tufts

Things may be turning around for the Harvard women's volleyball team. Last night they notched one in the win column, walloping the Tufts squad in straight sets, 15-13, 15-11, 15-9.

The victory was particularly rewarding to the spikers after their unsuccessful tournament appearance at UMass-Amberst last weekend, and Coach Ibsan Gurdal was pleased with his team's improved performance.

The spikers played their best match so far, dominating all three games. The hitters aggressive play at the nets was the most notable difference. But despite their victory, Co-Captain Catherine Wong said that the passing and defensive skills of the squad are still in need of improvement if the Crimson is to be competitive in League play.
