STANFORD, Calif--The Gay and Lesbian Alliance at Stanford University recently obtained documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation showing that the agency kept files on homosexual student organizations at four San Francisco-area campuses.
The files, covering the years from 1971 to 1975, include information on groups at Stanford, the University of California at Berkeley, California State University at Harward, and the College of San Mateo. The documents were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
