The men's rugby team finished a surprising second in the New England Championships at Amherst over the weekend, winning its first three matches before bowing out to the University of Massachusetts by a 15-9 score in the finals.

By taking second place, the fuuggers automatically received a berth in next month's Eastern rugby tournament in Virginia.

Harvard defeated Middlebury (10-0), Maine (4-0) and Brown (6-4) to reach the finals. George Askew and Nick Green did most of the scoring for the Crimson.
