"Unless they have come up with a splendid freshman class, I think we can handle them," said team coach Bill McCurdy yesterday. "Everything went our way last year. But I don't expect it to be quite that easy this year."

Brown middle distance sensation Osman Lake will attempt to replay his freshman year edging--by angstrom units--of thinclad standout Adam Dixon.
The status of Crimson stalwart John Murphy, who suffered with injuries through much of the cross country season, is questionable. If he does reach the starting line, he and teammate Buck Logan will face a strong challenge from the Brown distance duo of Ratcliffe and Jirelle which prevailed when the Crimson runners last met them during the cross country season.
