Durst Remains Questionable

By Jeffrey R. Toobin

Three days before the end of his college playing career, Harvard captain and defensive tackle Chuck Durst remains questionable for Saturday's Yale game.

"It's one of those things I won't know until Saturday," the senior said last night. The loss of Durst, a first-team All-Ivy performer last year and the team's leading tackler this season, could be devastating against the potent Yale offense.

Durst aggravated an injury to the ligaments in his left knee in the Crimson's 28-17 victory over Penn last Saturday. On and off crutches since Saturday, he has not worked out with the team all week, instead undergoing theraphy with trainer/oracle Jack Fadden.

Harvard, currently a two-point underdog against the Elis, will rely heavily on Durst to stop Yale tailback Rich Diana in the sold-out contest at Harvard Stadium. Game time is 12:30 p.m.; ABC (WCVB-TV, channel five) will broadcast the game live.
