Beethoven Orgy Rocks On

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Some things just take a long time.

It will take at least 81 hours of Beethoven to complete WHRB's longest music orgy ever.

The orgy, which started at 3 p.m. yesterday and runs until midnight Wednesday, includes almost all of Beethoven's recorded music, presented chronologically.

Alan Friedman '81, chief orgy producer, said the station has worked preparing for the orgy since early November, choosing the recordings of each piece to be included. He said the staff listened to 30 different recordings of the Fifth Symphony before choosing its favorite.

The first WHRB orgy began over 30 years ago, when a Harvard senior, upon finishing his last exam, ran to the station and played all nine Beethoven symphonies without interruption.
