Red Sox Lose, 6-4

Home runs by Cecil Cooper and Charlie Moore, combined with Bob McClure's clutch relief pitching, powered the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-4 win over the Red Sox at Milwaukee last night.

The Brewers scored a pair of runs in each of the first two innings off Sox starter Mike Torrez, whose record dropped to 2-1. Cooper boomed a solo shot in the first, and Jim Gantner added an RBI single, while Moore launched his two-run job in the second.

Bob Stanley matched McClure's performance out of the Boston bullpen, but to no avail.
