California Gov. Jerry Brown Jr. (above) faces Attorney General Evelle Younger, the Republican candidate, in the O.K. Corral on Tuesday. Brown has defused Younger's right-wing tax cut politics by moving so quickly to implement Proposition 13, sending California's $5 billion surplus back to the localities, that a majority of the state's voters believe Brown supported Turboprop 13 all along.
