SASC Petition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Leverett House Committee voted overwhelmingly last week to endorse the Southern African Solidarity Committee's (SASC) divestiture petition.

Leverett is the fourth House to endorse the petition. The Quincy, Lowell, and Winthrop House Committees endorsed the SASC position in December.

The petition calls for the University to divest itself of investments in South Africa, issue a public statement of its action, and support shareholder resolutions calling for divestiture by other American corporations.

The Currier House Committee will vote on the SASC petition tomorrow, Jonathan M. Rosenthal '78, co-president of the Currier committee, said yesterday.
