Hasty Pudding Theatricals announced yesterday the selection of actor Robert Blake, star of the television series "Baretta," as recipient of this year's Hasty Pudding "Man of the Year" award.

Richard W. Palmer '77, publicity director for Hasty Pudding Theatricals, said yesterday that Blake was selected because members of the group felt "he had done a lot for television in the last year."

Palmer denied earlier reports that Hasty Pudding had asked Sir Laurence Olivier, Ryan O'Neal, and Woody Allen to accept the award and that each had turned it down.
