Governor Michael S. Dukakis, in an address at the Loeb Drama Center on Friday, told the Metropolitan Cultural Alliance that he had to cut the allocation for the alliance programs to $40,000 in the budget he submitted to the state legislature last week.
The Metropolitan Cultural Alliance conducts management workshops and provides information services for over 100 cultural institutions in the Boston area, including the Loeb Drama Center and the University Film Center.
The Loeb center participates in the alliance by sharing fund-raising information and by exchanging ideas for cutting costs, according to Jonathan Moore, the president of the program. Moore is also director of the Institute of Politics.
