Cambridge city government entered another week of stalemate last night as the city council failed again to pick a mayor from its number.
In the six ballots held last night, liberal councilors Barbara Ackermann, David Clem, Francis H. Duehay '55 and Saundra Graham repeated their performance of last week by voting for Duehay and Graham on alternate ballots. Other councilors voted for themselves or simply answered "present" when called on.
One result of the deadlock is that council committees can not be appointed and the motions referred to them remained in a state of "legislative limbo," City Clerk Paul A. Healy said.
The council agreed to postpone further balloting until next week's meeting.
