Dissatisfied graduate students met with Jeanne Westheimer, assistant dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, yesterday to present a petition of their grievances regarding the housing conditions at the Cronkhite Graduate Center.
Westheimer said that she was "eager to hear what is concerning the students and eager to do everything in their best interests." She said that a "walk-through" is being scheduled by the students in the Cronkhite Center for administration officials to review the housing conditions at Cronkhite.
Additional meetings with graduate students have been planned to "attack as many problems as early as possible," Westheimer said.
Last Tuesday graduate students living at the Cronkhite Center signed a petition to withhold payment of rent until "meaningful discussions" concerning improvement of housing conditions were held.
Cronkhite students residents would not comment on the meeting yesterday.
