The Radcliffe tennis team swept all three singles matches yesterday en route to a 4-1 trouncing of a good Wellesley squad at Wellesley.
The only Radcliffe loss came in a close number one doubles match, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6 as Sally Burfort and Mellisa Garrison of Wellesley edged the Radcliffe duo of juniors Ginger St. Goar and Maude Wood.

Sophomore Denise Thal defeated highly touted Ginger Horne in the number one singles match, 7-5, 6-1. Both Thal and Horne come from Michigan, where they had faced each other several times before. Last year they met twice in intercollegiate play with each one taking a match.
Radcliffe captain Lissa Muscatine easily disposed of Valeria Sirtoli in the number two singles match, 6-2, 6-0, while sophomore Suki Magraw allowed Chrislaine Austin of Wellesley only a single game as she won, 6-0, 6-1.
Seniors Ingrid Sarapuu and Jill Robertson combined to beat the Wellesley pair of Anne Short and Betsey Monrod, 6-1, 6-4, in the number two doubles match.
"We're pleased how well everyone played," captain Muscatine said, "We've only been back a couple weeks and we're not really oriented towards tennis yet."
