YALE CAPTAIN INELIGIBLE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Ray Ford, captain of this year's Yale crew, has been declared ineligible by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

Tony Johnson, Yale coach, said the school had requested a waiver of the five-year rule that stipulates an athlete must complete his eligibility within five calendar years, but the request was turned down.

Ford matriculated at Yale in 1967, then took two years off because of academic problems. Ford is scheduled to graduate from Yale next January.
